The Humane Solution
OWLTRA is the humane solution for getting rid of large populations of rodents, as 4 D batteries are enough to exterminate 60 rats efficiently. If you don’t have batteries at hand, you can also choose to use USB cord as power source.
Outdoor Usage with Waterproof Grade IPX4
OWLTRA OW-7 In-/Outdoor Electric Rodent Trap can be used outdoors or in damp places when using together with the waterproof cover that comes with the product.
CAUTION: The product MUST be used together with semi-transparent waterproof cover when being used outside. Place the trap on a clean dry surface and do not immerse the product in water. When used outdoors, please check the product status regularly, especially after rain; and change the bait in time, so as to prevent the bait from going bad or being eaten by other animals. It is recommended to place it against a wall, not in places where water is easy to accumulate. If infrared probe is soaked in water, the red and green light will be on at the same time. Please then separate the top and bottom part, clean and dry the probe in time.
High Voltage: Keep out of reach of children and pets. Keep away from flammable items. Handle the trap only with dry hands/rubber gloves, turn the power OFF when baiting or touching the metal plates.
Two Ways of Powering – Money Saving and Convenient!
You can use either 4 D batteries or USB cord as power source for the trap. Compared to models that only support batteries, this design helps you save money on batteries! When using USB as power source, please use power adapter or power bank DC 5V with current 1A or above. When rats enter the trap and triggers the sensor, the shock time is 150 seconds when using batteries, and 210 seconds when using USB power.
NOTE: When using USB power, please take out the batteries; When using batteries, please unplug the USB cord.
Sound & Light Alarm
Together with the conventional LED alarm, a set of sound alarms are also added to remind you to clean up after the trap kills the rodent. After eliminating the rat, the green light flashes every 10 seconds, and the buzzer “dips” every one minute.
Easy Cleaning
Turn the switch OFF (“0”) and remove the batteries. Use warm water or hydrogen peroxide topical solution and a soft-bristle burgh to clean the chamber. DO NOT get any water on the electronic top. Air dry the interior and exterior chamber completely. Dry your hands completely. Now you can attach the top back into place and set up the trap again!
Efficient & Humane Solution to Your Rodent Problem!
The OWLTRA Outdoor Rodent Trap is the efficient & humane solution to your rodent problem!
How to Use OWLTRA Outdoor Rodent Trap
1. Load the Bait
Before adding the bait, turn the switch to the OFF (“0”) position. Then put the bait into the bait cup using a Q-tip, toothpick, or another tool to mask your human scent.
Tips: Anything high in protein like peanut butter, chocolate, hazelnut spread, or meat such as bacon is great bait!
2. Power on the Device
Insert 4 D Batteries or connect the USB cord to the power source. Then turn on the switch to the ON (“I”)position. The green light will be on for 1 second, and the buzzer will make a short “di ”sound. The trap then enters the sensor warm-up state. After about 40 seconds, the warm-up is completed, the green light flashes once, and the buzzer makes a long “beep” sound, which means that the product now enters the normal standby mode.
3. Place the Trap & Rodent Disposal
Put the waterproof cover on the trap’s top. Place the trap on a clean, dry surface alongside a wall indoors or outdoors where you are experiencing rodent problems. Position the trap with the entrance facing away from the wall. When rats enter the trap and triggers the sensor, the shock time is 150 seconds when using batteries, and 210 seconds when using USB power. After eliminating the rat, the green light flashes once every 10 seconds, and the buzzer “dips “every one minute.
Rodent Disposal: Turn the switch OFF (“0”) and remove the batteries. Pull and remove the top chamber and properly discard the rodent. Then follow the cleaning instructions in user manual to clean the trap and to reuse the trap again.
Troubleshooting
1. If the battery is under voltage or the power supply capacity of the adapter is insufficient, the red light will continue to flash rapidly, accompanied by the “di, di “sound from the buzzer, until batteries or adapter are/is replaced.
2. If both the red and green lights flash synchronously and rapidly, and the buzzer makes “di, di”sound: Please check the infrared sensor and make sure no object/dirt blocks the sensor.
